Catch up: Poetry
Apr. 17th, 2009 09:10 amDue to RL, I've not had a chance to post poetry for the past 3 days. So this is a post to get caught up.
Nothing Gold Can Stay
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
- Robert Lee Frost
~~~~~
i like my body when it is with your
i like my body when it is with your
body. It is so quite new a thing.
Muscles better and nerves more.
i like your body. i like what it does,
i like its hows. i like to feel the spine
of your body and its bones, and the trembling
-firm-smooth ness and which i will
again and again and again
kiss, i like kissing this and that of you,
i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz
of your electric fur, and what-is-it comes
over parting flesh ... And eyes big love-crumbs,
and possibly i like the thrill
of under me you so quite new
- ee cummings
~~~~~
When you are old
When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;
And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.
- William Butler Yeats

Today's Plan
Apr. 17th, 2009 09:39 amToday I plan to do some errands and then come home and catch up with Harper's Island and then watch the 1st ep of Leverage to see if I'll like it.
I also want to catch up on a few original slash fiction stories I've been meaning to read and, more importantly, get started on
kirby_crow's Angel of the Deep.
If I get all that done, then I think I'll finally get started on designing that geofiction web site I've been meaning to do forever. For those that don't know, geofiction is the hobby of creating fictional worlds. I know author's create worlds for their characters, but geofiction is centered around the creation of the world from the inside out and the outside in.
I think that's it and it'll be interesting to see what I actually get done today.
btw, has anyone else seen Southland yet?

Merlin vid rec
Apr. 17th, 2009 02:59 pmLook at my 'girlfriend'
I saw this vid rec'd on
beeej's lj and I am SO SO glad I gave it a shot!
It's an arthur/merlin vid done by
solanyxe and set to Gym Class Hereos "Cupid's Chokehold" and she so set the scenes to the lyrics and it's absolutely hilarious but so perfect for them!
Y'all should give it a look see cause it's fun!

Inquiring minds want to know
Apr. 17th, 2009 05:38 pmSo, something I've always wondered, but not been assed to ask about, why do some people dislike filters?
I'm asking now because in some of the (many) conversations I've seen about Dreamwidth, I've seen filters mentioned as one of the things some people have mentioned they don't like about LJ. Of course, there's many other reasons people have listed but the filter thing seems a bit odd, to my way of thinking. So does anyone know?
Btw, if anyone cares, I love the filter system. I'd not be able to keep up w/anyone if it wasn't for it.

Crazy woman love
Apr. 17th, 2009 07:29 pmOk, I use to think Amanda from HL was my fave female character but Parker is SO taking her place.
OMG! Wouldn't that be a hoot of a cross over?? Amanda meeting up with Parker (also hot!) *BIG GRIN*
Another thing, why is my brain trying to figure out how Parker could be related to Miss Parker from The Pretender and OMG! Can you imagine Miss Parker's face at meeting Parker?? HEE!!
Btw, does Parker have a first name? Should I care? :P
Also, does anyone know why, when I try to log in to DW w/Semagic I get a message the server can't be reached?
